Opunkhar® is a dry extract, sugar-free, based on prickly pear pads (cladodes) from Etna and carobs grown in Sicily, supported on a plant-based amaranth matrix.
Essentially based on Opuntia ficus-indica, enriched with carobs and supported on amaranth, the phytocomplex represents an innovative mix characterized by a unique composition.

Carob (Ceratonia siliqua)
From a nutritional point of view, carobs owe their properties to the nutrients found mainly in the pulp that separates the pod from the seeds. They are rich in fiber, making them a highly satiating food, and they are also low in fat. Carobs have a good content of proteins and minerals including potassium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, selenium, iron, and are an excellent source of vitamins, such as B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamins K and J, and dietary folate. Many properties of carobs also derive from their abundance of antioxidant substances, including polyphenols, such as flavonoids and tannins, which are mainly found in the seeds.
Prickly Pear Pad (Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill)
The cladodes or prickly pear pads contain a gelatinous pulp that is a source of fiber, mucilage, and pectin. Being rich in phosphorus, sodium, potassium, vitamins from groups A, B, C, and K, and chlorophyll, they are useful for strengthening the immune system and promoting the health of the digestive system: in particular, they help combat a range of problems, such as gastroesophageal reflux. Furthermore, prickly pear pads are indicated for maintaining body weight balance. Being rich in fiber, they help reduce food absorption and have a strong laxative effect.
Amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus L.)
A pseudocereal with a low glycemic index and gluten-free, it is renowned for its richness in complete proteins, essential amino acids, and soluble fibers that promote cardiovascular health, intestinal transit, and increase the feeling of satiety.
