Yellow Cherry Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Pomod’Oro® is a dry extract made from yellow cherry tomatoes grown in the Pachino area of Sicily, supported on a plant-based amaranth matrix. Essentially based on Solanum Lycopersicum and supported on amaranth, this sugar-free phytocomplex represents an innovative mix characterized by a unique composition. The yellow cherry tomatoes are rich in fiber and contain a high amount of carotenoids and flavonoids, which give their skin its yellow color. The skin itself contains polyphenols, especially flavonols such as rutin. Other antioxidant compounds found in tomatoes include flavanones and, among phenolic acids, chlorogenic acid. Additionally, yellow tomatoes contain large quantities of minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. This variety of tomatoes is known for the vitamins it contains and is especially a good source of beta-carotene. Besides Vitamin A, the "golden apple" contains B group vitamins and Vitamin C, which is mainly found in the gelatinous substance surrounding the seeds in the pulp.
