Watermelon and Cucumber: A Tasty and Effective Combination Against Water Retention
From this partnership comes a new chewable dietary supplement that combines two extracts—watermelon and cucumber. Specifically formulated to support the physiological functionality of the microcirculation and promote body fluid drainage, each tablet provides 50 mg of citrulline and 2.5 mg of bioflavonoids.

Water retention, especially common among women, occurs when the body retains excessive fluid in the tissues, causing a sensation of swelling and heaviness. Cucumbers contain provitamin A, B-complex vitamins, and vitamin C, and are rich in potassium, iron, calcium, iodine, and manganese. Cucumber pulp is used as a diuretic and detoxifier, and the water and mineral salts it contains are particularly useful in balancing acidic foods.
Watermelon is a rich source of β-carotene, which acts as an antioxidant and a precursor of vitamin A. It also has a high polyphenol content in both the rind and the pulp, particularly rutin, which strengthens capillary walls, reduces swelling and bruising, and provides relief from symptoms related to lymphatic circulation in the lower limbs.
Among its minerals, watermelon is high in magnesium and potassium—both of which help regulate blood pressure and combat water retention. These two minerals are therefore essential in reducing swelling in the legs, ankles, and thighs, as well as in helping to minimize cellulite.
Moreover, watermelon contains significant amounts of citrulline, which acts on the microcirculation by converting into arginine—an amino acid that increases nitric oxide (NO) production. Nitric oxide promotes vasodilation, or the relaxation of blood vessels, improving blood flow, increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to tissues, and enhancing vascular elasticity.
